Midnight Party at the Junction

End of January 2021, I receive few WhatsApp messages from my secondary schoolmate whom is also my client TB asking for help. Both he and his wife relay to me that since last year they already encounter this problem. It all started with my friend TB’s Buddhist chanting. 

Their house is situated next to a small cross junction. The junction will only be accessed by those whom are living within the neighborhood. Early last year before the pandemic, while they were traveling, TB mum encountered uncontrollable high blood pressure while at home. Although they view it as a medical problem , soon it got strange because even after admission into hospital the problem persisted for his mum. At that time, he enquired with a monk friend who told him that his house junction has a lot of spirits waiting for boons from them. 

The monk friend actually asked TB what actually did he do to attract so many spirits? TB said he recite Buddhist Pali Chantings and do dedications to all sentient beings and also those in the hungry ghost realms. His monk friend can see from his meditative stabilization that there are too many of them, each group will receive their boon and go off then another group will come and wait for it. The situation got resolved after his monk friend ask those spirits to go temple to collect the boons and merits.

After TB told me his previous incident, he told me now is like getting worst. His dog would by mid nite, out of sudden just bark fiercely at the middle of the junction in front of their house. When the dog starts barking, he went and check his own blood pressure, it would shoot up to 154/80 range. I told him, it could be something else not necessarily spiritual, as I alway like to assess the situation from an explainable perspective first. Not only his BP would shoot up, his wife BP would also shoot up. Now things are getting strange.

It could be he forgot to consume his BP meds or possible clog of arteries if there is sudden rise of pressure in an individual. To have 2 person having uncontrollable BP despite taking their meds would be a strange situation. I ask TB why you did not get your monk friend to help you again this time? The monk friend told him it was too many, and he can only also give them some boons/merits and ask them to move on. But others would gather.

And they say that the situation now is like getting worst because not only their dog would bark at the junction, other neighborhood dogs are also barking at the junction during the same timing,.And there is not a single individual or car at the junction when all the dogs are barking towards it.

I told TB I will try to find out what is the situation and remedy. During that time I was still rushing to complete the final batch of Destiny Analysis for my clients. For almost 2 week continuous, I slept an average of 4 hours per day due to the extensive video recording for all clients. My mind was in no condition for meditative stabilization to check on it. I can only enquire with my Taoist Deities on what is needed to be done for his case. It is also due to his monk friend earlier investigation, that I decided to go ahead with the remedy part instead of investigation part following the usual process.

Called a Grab Delivery and sent TB several talisman, to seal his house access, taking care of the whatever that went into his house an also cleanse their house. Due to Movement Control Order in Malaysia, I was not able to visit his home, if I was onsite then it would be much easier to seal the house spiritually.

For his case, I would need to advised him how to perform a DIY spiritual space cleansing. After all the talismans are up and burned, that very night they don’t feel that there is anything within the house, but the dog would still bark at the junction for a short time. I explain to them it takes time for spirits to finally get it that there is no more things to receive from their house. As he continue to burn the talisman each evening, the incident occur less each evening. Finally I sent them some candles we use for exorcism to the burn in his home altar.

 And the last I checked with them, everything cleared. 

Chanting any Buddhist mantra or reading sutras is a good spiritual practice. However not everyone can withstand the crowd of spiritual friends that need the boons/merits when they gather around. If the space is not well protected, then there is a possibility of being affected by the changes of energy when these spirits gather in your vicinity.

Some teachers would go on to promote chanting or reading sutras online or make short videos on FB and YouTube to promote normal individuals to do these practices. While those watching or just learning it online would think it is a fail safe activity. What can come out of chanting or reading sutra ? they would think, without having a mental preparedness of the possible side effect. And when things turn out more than expected, many are left with no answers and more problems into the their life.

  

The House with ‘Dirty Things’

End of February I was contacted by a new temple member ‘NK’ from Kuala Lumpur to do an audit for his home. Later he informed me that his sister in law would also like to audit their house. Due to my busy schedule arrangement I only managed to audit both of their houses by mid of March 2020.

When NK was confirming the sister in-law’s home with me, he informed me that the house got ‘dirty things’. As I asked further, only he revealed to me that the house itself have a lady spirit. He said there was one time about 2 years ago both he and his wife stayed at the sister in-law home. And his wife in her dream was suppressed by a lady spirit. In her dreams she was awake in the same room she slept in and suddenly from on top of the bedroom door, there was a lady squatting on top. When she saw ‘her’ the spirit jumped from the top of the door and pressed towards her. She experienced a very frightful sleep paralysis. His sister in-law occasionally will see some shadows moving passed their main second floor hallway.

NK then completed the whole story by saying ‘Well of course I did not see anything as I slept throughout the whole ordeal’. I then need to clarify with NK that my full time job is a Feng Shui Consultant, anything to do with spiritual beings/entities have to go through the temple, as helping to remove the entity or not will have to depend on the Deities of the temple. Simply put, my work process does not include ghost busting. Anyway I told him I would help to enquire with the Deities of Kam Dong San (www.facebook.com/kdspg).

I went into meditative stabilization, after he gave me his sister in-law complete address. I saw a lady wearing white gown something like hospital gown with long hair just floating aimlessly in the house second floor. At first when she saw me, she was quite aggressive, I informed her that I will be coming to the house soon and whether she would want to leave the house voluntarily? She agreed, but I had the impression that she was somehow bind to the house. I asked her how she ended up in the house, she was angry and bitter and the impression I picked was there was something done prior to them moving in that made her stuck there. Then I quickly awaken from my meditated state. I felt something amiss with this whole vision in my meditation

. 

Enquired with the Deities and they instructed me that I cannot remove her by force, she is somehow bind to the place, my instructions from the Deities was either to leave her where she was or installed a ‘place’ for her just outside their home. If the house owners do not agree, I cannot do anything further. That was my instruction.

Later I checked again with NK on whether his sister in-law house had any altar, he informed me they have an altar but somehow his sister in-law and brother in-law do not regularly offer incense or sometimes do it late at night. I informed NK that they need to install an outdoor Earth Deity board and urn so that I will be able to transfer the spirit to that location just outside the home. By instruction I was not to remove the spirit forcefully if they do not agree to relocation of the spirit. I told NK that the choice is up the them, as some people might find the job of offering incense to another urn outside the home as tedious. In that case they would not need to do the relocation.

After a few days later, NK told me they agree to relocate the spirit. I was still puzzled by how come I was not allowed to remove the spirit. There must be some incident that happen before, out of my curiosity I decided to did an oracle to find out further. Till now some of you maybe asking why not I just directly ask the Deities? Well in meditative stabilization especially spiritual work, the information are given usually on a need to know basis. It is not like a phone interview or detailed discussion, the vision and impression comes fast and furious and usually in bits and pieces. 

From the oracle, I know that it has something to do with a dead tree.

2 weeks later I was at the house, I saw on the opposite of the house was a common garden for the area, few trees but no dead tree to be found. When I met NK bro in-law Bill, he is the type that likes to talk in great lengths about everything especially relating to his home. He told me when they moved in there was a cactus tree just in front of the house, he chopped it down. Then it all makes sense to me. 

When I went into their house, the altar energy is almost non existence either from their prolong inconsistent incense offering or the consecration was a problem from the start. What I notice was, the Earth Deity is not there, most likely due to the strong spirit presence and wrong method of praying. 

When I went to their second floor, towards the back of the room, it was total darkness, then Bill proceed to open up the curtain in the empty room. I informed Bill that he needed to open up the curtain during daytime. His wife Anna told me Bill was the one that makes sure the curtain was kept close in the unoccupied room. Inside the room there was only a dressing table with a large mirror. The mirror was the entry point for the spirit into the house after Bill chopped down the tree. 

And I needed to add that up to this point, Anna told me that Bill did not believe the house have a spirit. Even when conversing with me he would go to great lengths to explain and tell me how there was no death in the house prior to their purchase and the previous owner actually made some money before they upgraded their house.

This also shed some light on why I was not allowed to remove the spirit from the house. Because the owner himself is not convinced that there is a problem other than his wife. Meanwhile NK told me both Bill and Anna would argue and fight quite regularly in the house. A house with uninvited spirits sometime would have that affect, member of the household would have shorter fuse and emotionally erupt on a regular basis. Spirits feed on the negative energy.

I was not there to educate them on spirit haunting and effects but to get the job done. After the relocation, instantly the heavy spiritual smog of the house is lifted, just like a polluted area when you have a hard time breathing, now it is cleared. The lady spirit was waiting for her relocation and was happy with it, I asked her to let Bill have some dreams so that he can convince himself there is an extra occupant in the house.

  

Let's Talk Papa

About a month back, one of my Taoist disciple T messaged me. He was asking me to help audit his parent's house Feng Shui, because he hope to move his family back to stay with his parents.

Without much thought, I agree to help him out. After the audit he messaged me again asking whether is there any talisman to help on 和合 'Woh Hup' in Cantonese which means for aiding in relationship. I asked further what was the situation and he told me that his dad have not spoken to him since beginning of the year due to difference of opinion regarding some financial matters ( cannot divulge too much as it is not the core of the situation).

As he is planning to move back, mainly because of his mum, he feels it will be really uneasy and awkward with him and his dad not on speaking terms. I adviced him to go back to temple and ask for Deities approval in issuing the talisman.

The following Friday, as I walked into the temple, T was already there with some sweat flowing down his forehead and neck. He told me he already got 3 Sheng Puay (confirmation oracle) from the Deities in agreeing to issue some talisman to help in his situation.

Since he already got the approval, my job is to follow the decision of the Deities. After 1 week, I have asked T to come by temple to pick up his talisman and also bring some offerings for the Deities. I did a simple Taoist process of supplicating a formal edict towards his case and burn some talisman.

I gave him some instructions on how to handle the talismans. After about 1 week, he messaged me and told me the talisman worked miraculously. He called up his father, they had a decent conversation and on top of that his father offer to sponsor part of the renovation to accomodate him moving back into their home.

His mother was the one most surprised as she knows the character of her husband and quite out of the ordinary for him to have a 180' degree turn. After another week, T informed me that his dad invited him for dinner, he is in the process of waiting for all renovations to complete before moving back.

The confirmation of the talisman worked was when at the same week, he and his dad had another difference of opinion regarding the furniture placement. This time his dad automatically called him up few days later and provided some win-win solutions to their difference of opinion. It is not normal for his dad to do this, but somehow he is a different person.

T was very surprised with this and the speed of turn around of his father. Liu Ren's 六壬和合符relationship aiding talisman was actually one of the more famous 和合术 even compare to 茅山和合术. However it needs to be the traditional talisman for aiding relationship and also approved by deities of a particular temple or altar.

Spiritual Assistance on Legal Problem

2 weeks ago I have received a request for help from a foreign Kam Dong San Temple member. Their company was facing legal suit due to copyright infringement.

Their company has been operating for several years, unfortunate their name was copyrighted by another party last year. And now the copyright owner has taken legal action on them. 

Regular readers/followers will now start getting curious how come matters relating to legal can also be assisted via spiritual means. If life matters relating to external effects or being affected externally by person(s) or conditions, usually can be intervene spiritually. However all depends on the approval of deities.

Legal matters are more complicated compare to someone who has spiritual disturbance or spirit haunting. This is because we have to be very careful on who we are rendering help. If the person is wrong/guilty and we help them through spiritual means, it would consider interfering with the Tao or as Buddhism put it interfering with karmic consequences and that would have severe consequences on us personally. Check out previous article I have written regarding seeing black smoke in the court house. 

After finish Whatsapp messaging with him, I asked for the deities permission to help on this matter through the shell oracle. The deities approved and immediately I have to draw out 7 talismans for the next day Taoist rituals. As indicated by the deities, the ritual needed to be done immediately to avert any further actions by the other party.

Official Edict also have to be written and burn up

On the morning of burning the edict after the Taoist ritual, just when I was about to burn all the talisman, suddenly the skies turn dark. I manage to burn the edict and shortly after it rained quite heavily. I informed him, that it will take some time for the matter to clear as the indication is not so favourable.

I have also sent him 3 talisman to be burn at his home. Hoping to cut any delays, I had sent the talisman via DHL. After about 10 days, the talisman still did not reached him. That was very strange because it was supposed to arrive within 3 working days.

When I checked with courier company on the 10th day, the system showed that someone has already signed for it on the 3rd working day. When he checked with the courier company on he realized that his concierge at his lobby apartment is the one that signed for it, however they did not informed him.

Usually when the conditions are not favourable, sometimes the obstacles that one will encounter is unimaginable. As soon as he got the talisman, immediately I advised him on how to request before the burning.

1 day after that, he messaged me saying that the other party has agreed to pursue any monetary charges towards them and allow them to rebrand within 14 days. He was very happy and have also decided to offer thanks to the temple deities by arranging for 5 Mega Incense to be offered on the coming 15th of the 5th Lunar Month.

Kam Dong San Purple Handbook Testimonials

When I decide to have our temple team compile a small handbook last year. It was a labour of love and compassion from the committees and members for the benefit of all those that can come into contact with Kam Dong San Temple Deities and Bodhisattvas.

After 1 year since handing out the handbook. We have receive numerous positive feedbacks and experiences that members and public had with using the Purple Kam Dong San Handbook.

The handbook has 2 Taoist Talisman, 1 on the front cover and 1 at the back. Even though it is printed talisman, but I have requested our Deities to consecrate each of these talisman and also with Deities Seal.

When we hand them out, I always tell the receivers to bring it together with them when they are travelling. It will help prevent any spiritual problems especially when staying at unfamiliar hotels.

Here are 3 recent feedbacks.

1. A normal patron to the temple who have requested the handbook, whom later reported back that few weeks later she had experienced sleepless nights for 3-4 consecutive nights with lots of dreams and restlessness. 

She then recalled that she has the handbook, so she decided to put it under her pillow. To her amazing surprise, she slept soundly for the whole night. After which, she does the same for the second night and continue to have good sleep. 

This lady then decides to request few more handbooks to give to her family members for safekeeping and also as an essential item to bring in their travel.

2. The above patron, has a female friend whom had undergone chemotherapy twice. After therapy she also find it difficult to sleep. After she passed the handbook to her friend, she place it by her bedside. To her surprise she also find it very easy to sleep without much mental activity.

After these 2 recent feedbacks, I usually will share with members of the temple. Then last week, another lady member told me that she also had really good experience with the handbook while travelling. She went for tour in Korea with her family member.

3. During her stay in the hotel, in one of the evening, she had numerous nightmares. Even to the point of screaming out loud while having these nightmares. When she opened her eyes, she notice a black figure (seems like wearing a cloak) standing next to her. She then recalled about the temple handbook and decide to place it next to her bed. She was thinking of not sleeping for the night for fear of another nightmare. Somehow she felt asleep and slept soundly until morning. She told me from now on, she will bring the purple handbook with her whenever she travels.

Once you have it, important is not to place it on the floor or at levels where people can walk or put their legs across it. Treat it with respect, and it will definitely help you out in unwarranted spiritual situations.

Using Wooden Oracle - 2 Days Before Spring 2016

2 days before spring 立春，my wife told me that the coffee shop lady (Aunty) at our temple building seems kind of troubled lately. She described to me that she seems to having greyish tone to her face and also she lost about 5kg in 1 week.

The aunty asked my wife whether she can come and consult our temple on spiritual matters as she is worried that she has either exposed or bump into some spiritual entities. My wife relay to her that Kam Dong San temple did not have spiritual consultation anymore as it is already so close to Chinese New Year. When I heard about it, I ask my wife to inform aunty to come up to the temple and consult using the wooden oracle.

Using the wooden oracle in the temple could sometime be more accurate than enquiring through medium because it totally eliminate the emotional, value and belief systems of the medium. Therefore the answer is always without prejudice.

The aunty have also gone to the local General Hospital for check up, because she was worried that it was something medical. After whole body check up, with exception to her kidneys (as she was supposed to be back in the hospital between that few days to complete it) . All results showed that she is normal. 

However she does not have appetite and can barely sleep at night due to restlessness for unknown reason. She has also relay to my wife that her brother have enquired about her condition at another temple that has a medium. According to that medium, she has no spiritual problem.

On the day before Spring, I was on my way to the temple to consecrate the new Jade Emperor statue. Aunty is schedule to come up to our temple after the consecration to enquire the Deities on her problem. While driving, I went into meditative stabilisation and enquire about aunty's condition. Some of you reading this will be wondering, how to get into meditative stabilisation while driving? If the enquiry is not too complex, usually with experience one can do it. Its just like humming a tune while driving. 

Anyhow, I know for sure aunty has bump into some spiritual entity and I was advised by the deities to give aunty some clearing talisman after her enquiry at the temple.

Aunty came up to our temple and do the usual offering of joss sticks, and I have advised her on how to inform and request the deities for help. After she has inform on all her particulars and also her questions, I then told her to use the wooden oracle.

Wooden Oracle  (POSITIVE) @ Puak Puay in Hokkien Dialect

If the Deities answered her oracle in 3 positive throw (consecutively) - 1 wooden oracle must face up and the other face down which is called 圣杯 Sheng Bei, then it would be confirmed that she has spiritual problem. If anything else 2 oracle face up or down, then it would not be a confirmation.

She did 3 throws consecutively and it was all positive to confirmed on her condition. I asked her to throw another one after her 3 confirmation to asked whether 'other than spiritual problem, does she have a medical problem to add on to it' and the throw came back negative.

Once it was confirmed as to my enquiry during meditative stabilisation, I later passed aunty 5 talisman for her to ingest and 1 for her to wash. On the day of Spring, my wife met aunty again at the coffee shop and she was glad to say that she felt much better after ingesting the first talisman and felt like a big weight was lifted off her chest from the past week.

Today on the 4th day of Chinese New Year, her coffee shop was open and she told my wife, she felt great and have a very good appetite during Chinese New Year.

Another Shadow from Her Body

This case came to our temple 2 months ago, just right after our Annual Fund Raising Dinner. www.facebook.com/kdspg . This lady is a relative of one of our temple member.

When she told me about her encounters, she was also not sure whether it is anything spiritual or whether she needs help or not. She told me she went for a movie in a local cinema with some friends. Before the movie starts, she felt a bit dizzy and headache and thought it was just tiredness.

Then when she turn back from her seat at the cinema, she saw all the seats was moving as if in a forward wavy manner. She was surprised and ask her friends to look at it, however they did not see anything strange. That was the beginning.

The following week she went to some chalet stay by the beach, in the middle of the night she can hear very loud screams near her room and she could not sleep the whole night. After she came back from her trip, she have trouble sleeping at night.

Taoist Deities confirmed that she had some encounters with spiritual entity, however it is not as serious as possession yet.

So I gave her 3 Talisman to ingest, one every evening and advice her, if she have any out of ordinary dreams then she can come back to the temple again.

After about 1 month, she came back to the temple with her daughter and requested to see me. I thought she had some different dreams or encounters. She told me, after ingestion of the 1st talisman, during the night she felt very uncomfortable, then suddenly she saw in a brief moment as if another shadow leaving her body. After that, she felt a strong relieved. She said she completed the 3 day ingestion of talisman.

And the reason she wanted to see me was to ask me, whether she is now alright. "If there is no more strange dreams and you can sleep well,  you should be ok" - I told her.

Encounter with entities can happen anywhere and any time. Especially when your luck@life force is down, then the person becomes a likely candidate.

A Gift of Thanks....

Just before Christmas 2014, our temple Kam Dong San (www.facebook.com/kdspg) receive a gift from our renovation contractor Mr. Saw

He was in charge for much of our temple renovation. When I met Mr. Saw about a month back, he was asking me whether how much did our temple charge for spiritual help. I told him we did not charge any amount, usually any token of appreciation/donation is accepted.

He then relayed to me that his daughter's newly renovated apartment in the Macallum area had some spiritual disturbance. He told me when the daughter came back from KL (Kuala Lumpur) and stayed in her new apartment with some friends, they will hear strange noise in the kitchen at night, like people open and shut the kitchen door. The daughter's friend even saw some shadow floating around in the area of the apartment. After this incident, his daughter refuse to stay in the newly renovated apartment.

Mr Saw, then asked me whether I need to visit the site to confirm. I just asked him to come up to KDS Temple to offer some incense to all deities before we can help him.

The following week, he came with his wife, I have prepared 2 talisman for him. 1 to burn in the middle of the home, the other to stick on the front main door.  He further asked me if there is big problem. I assured him that it was just some spirit passing by, nothing to worry about.

I can see from his face that he was actually quite skeptical, because I did not give him anything else. Just 2 piece of yellow paper!

Mr Saw did mentioned to me during one of our conversations when he was renovating our temple , in which during his younger days he was quite interested in Taoism especially Tao Fa. Therefore he had known many of our 'pioneer' Master in this field. He was very curious young man and where ever there are known Tao Fa Master he would always visit their temple. Sadly however many of those legendary figures in Tao Fa have already move on from this plane.

When we received this trolley gift from him, it was due to his gratitude on the help we have rendered him. His daughter's apartment no longer had strange noises, the daughter now have no problem staying in the apartment whenever she is back in Penang. And he now sees the effect of the deities protection through the simple 2 piece of yellow paper.

Thunderwood Protection in Intensive Care Unit

During Chinese New Year, one of my old friend James and his wife Ai Li contacted us. Saying that their friend wanted to liberate fishes on the Chinese New Year Liberation, saying that their friend wanted to do on behalf of their 6 years old nephew Andrew (real name was withheld for anonymity) who was admitted at the Penang General Hospital, Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

On further fact finding, Ai Li related to us that her friend's nephew had a rare genetic illness, in which he has a very weak immune system. He was admitted during since the Chinese New Year due to fever, but upon various test by local private hospital they are unable to diagnose what virus/bacteria infection that he had. When the condition got critical private hospitals advised Andrew's parent to admit him to the General Hospital.

Even while being hospitalized in the General Hospital, they still unable to pinpoint what exactly that he has contracted. By the time Ai Li related his condition to us, he was actually in a semi-conscious state.

I immediately asked Ai Li to obtain the child Andrew date of birth, so that I can analyze how bad was his condition. When I looked at his chart, 2014 was actually not as bad as they would have described. In fact worst was coming in 2015. In my mind, I belief he would survive the current ordeal.

Then I decided to check whether he had any spiritual problem related to his problem. I went into meditative stabilization, upon viewing - an image of a boy surrounded by 3 black entity. The black entity is not in solid form but thick dark black smoke. Therefore I know that his problem is also partly spiritual.

I informed Ai Li that Andrew's parent of someone who has blood relation with Andrew needs to come to temple to request for protection and blessings from the Taoist Deities.

On the 7th Day of Chinese New Year during our temple celebration, Andrew's father, grandfather and aunt came to the temple and request protection and blessings from all deities and 金英祖師 Jin Ying Zu Shi in particular because Andrew had the most affinity with the deity.

I have also drawn a 六壬保命符 Life Protection Talisman and also given the father a piece of ThunderWood Protection Pendant 雷擊木符 from my own keeping and informed his father to place it underneath his pillow. I have also informed the father that they need to liberate at least 1000 fishes on Andrew's behalf.  We have also passed booklets on how to chant 大悲咒 Da Bei Zhou Great Compassionate Dharani and also 心經 Heart Sutra and told them it is time they chanted in more volume to dedicate to his son.

After a few days, Ai Li related to us that after Andrew's father visited us at the temple and brought back the talisman to the hospital, something really bizarre happen at the hospital. Andrew was awake at night time and his mum and nurses saw his eyes was roving around as if he saw someone walking by his bedside, he also raise his hand and pointed towards his bedside as if there is someone there. In actual fact, in the room was only his mum and some nurses. When his father brought him the talisman and put besides him, immediately he would be able to fall asleep.

After which he slowly recovers and can talk. He was telling his mummy, that he saw a lot of people coming towards him and wants to bring him somewhere else. He was holding tightly the Thunderwood Pendant whenever he is awake and that helps calms him down.

The major Fish Liberation Day was on the 10th Day of Chinese New Year , in the afternoon I received a call from Andrew's father thanking me and the temple. He told me that after the liberation, indeed his son did have a significant improvement and can start to eat and drink. I advised him to continue to liberate until the recommended number of fishes.

It is also a sign spiritually, that his karmic debtors do accept the fish liberation that they were doing as a mean of repaying karmic debts. On the following month, I get to see Andrew in person, when his dad brings him to KDS Monthly Fish Liberation. Subsequently his dad also brings him to the temple to offer thanks to all deities.

TESTIMONIAL : A Call for Help....

Last year December, one of my foreign students message me for help. As his mum was diagnosed with psychiatric problem.

He immediately sent over his mum BaZi (date of birth and time) and I looked through and advised him on Feng Shui allocation. I have also advised him to do Fish Liberation for his mum.  My experience with Kam Dong San temple support.

------In December 2012, my mother quickly lost her mind, and some of her physical abilities. After 10 days spent in hospital, they couldn’t find anything and electro-shock therapy was recommended to “cure” her. She is in her 70ies with no psychiatric history, so this suggestion was very painful. I was convinced that she was victim of a transient stroke, but no traces were found. 

Revolted against the Western approach to her case, I took on my own to design her treatment. I ordered some supplements, gave her some B-12 shots every week, sent her for acupuncture and also found a real, traditional doctor in Chinese medicine in the UK. Not the “reformed” Chinese medicine, but the traditional one: this guy follows the Hunyuan school and use strong herbs, that were shipped to us every week. As I practise traditional Feng Shui through the tutelage of Master Ham, I was relieved to find someone with a traditional approach.

For the spiritual part, I dedicated the next 6 months of animal liberation donations to her recovery. 

I also, every day, practiced the compassion mantras that Master Ham advises me to do. Moreover, Master Ham sent me some talismans as we suspected a case of spirit possession (she had depressive tendencies).  

The talismans experience was very telling: she never knew she was taking them as the ashes (talisman burned) were mixed with some medicine every night. But one night after the 4^th or 5^th talisman she complained that her stomach was burning and made some weird screams, for hours. She was very agitated and my father and I had to restrain her. She was also always taking the thunder wood necklace off her neck.

During the 6 months of treatments she made constant progresses. Now to this date she has totally recovered, which is astonishing: and she is a much more positive person, laughing, with a good stamina, and getting along well with my dad. Before they used to argue all the time…
I am convinced that it was important to treat both the physical and the spiritual parts. The case was heavy. Through my karma, I have this connection with Chinese culture: a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine came to me, and the Kam Dong San temple helped me too. The reactions I noticed after some talismans and the effects I saw sometimes after the animal liberations were no fluke. 

I am very grateful for the recovery of my mother and I know the spiritual work of the Kam Dong San temple and Master Ham were a big part of it. May we all continue this good karmic work.

Continuation of the case :- March 2014

My student notified me that her mum had some relapse again after she recovered, she was hospitalized. They found that she had meningitis. She has also lost her ability to walk.

When my student informed me on the relapse, I immediately asked him whether he continued chanting Mantra for his mum. He has cut down the chanting to once day. I have advised him to continue to chant and dedicate to his mother.

Spirit possession almost all the time related to karmic problems in previous and current life. Talisman will delay and hold the retribution, but as long as the problems are not solved at the root level, it will continue to manifest itself after a period of time.

As of end of March, I was informed that his mother is recovering but still cannot walk....

One for me please....

It is getting quite often that people will write email or post message on my Facebook account asking for Taoist talisman. Usually, they wouldn't say what is their problem, but would like to have a talisman.

This is like you going to your doctor friend and asked 'Can you give me some medicine to swallow?' and when your doctor friend asked you ' What's wrong?' you replied ' I don't know, but taking some wouldn't hurt right?'.

Some would even give me self diagnosis. I suspect I am being hexed or I suspect that a lot jealous people are out there to get me. Can you please give me a talisman to solve all this? This is similar to going to the doctor and said ' I need this specific medication, because I have a feeling I am suffering from xxx desease or illness, just give it to and my problem will be solved.

This is what I called living in the FAST FOOD culture and society. Not only people nowadays expect a 'fix' from Western meds. They are starting to have the same idea with religion and also Taoist talisman.

For example, when your physical body have some problem such as lethargic and frequent tiredness. You don't expect the doctor the give you a pill to solve it. With further questioning and investigation, it would reveal that you constantly sleep late. So your habit of sleeping late is causing the physical stress in your body and those are just the effects. To solve this problem, you just need to adjust yourself to sleep earlier.

Same with spiritual problems or prevention of spiritual problems. Some problems can be prevented by knowing the correct protocol, such as when you visit funeral parlour and Yin areas, what are the things you should be aware and the do's and don't.

Some  spiritual problems can be solved by specific action of doing meritorious deeds. Some can be solved by chanting specific mantras. Some can be solved by requesting protection from a specific deities and the list is endless.

What about Taoist talisman? Taoist Talisman especially Liu Ren talisman usually have a specific purpose or goal that has been embedded into the talisman. The talisman will carry specific command, request, energy field, deities energy signature and also sometimes houses specific heavenly army request to perform a specific task. Thefore it is very difficult to ask for a general request on a religious instrument that are specific in nature.

Some talisman can only be issued upon deities approval. Some require the person to personally attend and visit the temple to acquire it. On most cases, it is wise to develop a relationship with the temple or deities before requesting for any talisman.

In life most of the time, the things you need MOST to solve your spiritual problems, will often times be not what you THOUGHT you need. Most of the time, it is what you are most reluctant to do, which is the thing that will solve your spiritual problem.

Power of the Golden Fan 金扇的奥秘

This article is written without any intention to promote or condone any gambling activities. The author only wishes to share the spiritual experience of his student and disciple. Any form of gambling activities will involve risk of losing money, which most of the time is the inevitable fact!

Our temple had our 1st Quarter Committee meeting last night. After the meeting, when there are few people left clearing up the place, James (a temple disciple) shared with us his experience in Genting Highlands during Chinese New Year.

He said on the 9th day of Chinese New Year, he and his wife was in Genting Casino for some casual game. After entered the casino for a short time, he said he has already lost about RM1500. So he suggested to his wife that they go and have something to eat and then come back. When they came back, he had only RM170 left in his credit. He said, if he lose this amount he will called it quits. He went for the nearest jackpot, again he lost some money. Then his wife said to him "its not that you don't know how to play, it's that you can't win". Then she took the small Golden Fan out from her purse and started fanning him. James did not realize that she fan him with the fan until he turn his back and saw her action. Quickly he asked her to keep the fan back in her purse for fear of appearing funny and attracting attention .

Where did James got the fan? In the move for our temple to acquire donation for our electricity bill for the year 2012. Under the permission of all deities especially God of Wealth Zhao Gong Ming 金龍如意龍虎玄壇趙公明元帥, we have issued out 4 Golden Fans with talisman of 5 Directional Wealth Deities on the 5th day of Chinese New Year. James was one of the person who donated RM888 for the temple electricity bill and thus as a recipient of the golden fan for his generosity.

Anyway, back to his story. After that action by his wife, he went on to play another jackpot with whatever amount he had. On the 3rd spin of the jackpot, he won RM2500+. He went on to play the dice, he bet on 123, it came out 123. He then move to play other games, all the games he played he won. He said at the end of the round, he won back his RM1500 plus another RM5000. On his way out of the casino he went back to the slot machine that he lost RM350, he told himself " I don't believe I cannot get any money from this machine." Again one spin, he got back his RM350. Then he said both of them left happily.

Coincidence? How do we explain this from a spiritual perspective? Well when his wife fan him with the talisman, it will definitely and instantly invoke the energies of the deities. That would clear out any bad energy that is stuck to his body and clear his thought for that moment. In a traditional sense, we call it raising his luck. 

Will everyone who receive the Golden Fan be able to win money in the casino? I don't think so. Whatever blessings that they receive from the talisman is dependent on the deities. But 1 out of 4 fans, our track record can be considered impressive :)  However one thing is for sure, whatever generosity that is received by the temple, I am very sure that our temple deities would not short change our sponsors in blessings.

Understanding Taoist Talisman

In spiritual Taoism, most often you will see paper talisman being used, commonly called FU 符.

Talisman in Taoism is an official way to communicate with different deities and spirits. Of course other cultures would use different methods such as chanting a specific verse or word, commonly known as mantra. Because of length of Chinese civilization, our culture already have characters since 2500BC to represent written communication. Therefore in Taoism, written words are used as the main form of communication medium with the higher deities.

If you look at different countries in South East Asia such as Cambodia, their main communication medium with deities and spirits is through chanting of mantras. Some Thai monks and Thai occult masters would usually make their journey up to Cambodia to learn different types of magic. It is said that Khmer language is more suitable for magic as compared to the Thai language. Most of the katha (Thai language for mantra) that are used today are still mainly in Khmer language.

Bomoh (Malay language for Malay Shaman) would use the words and alphabets in the Quran to help heal those who are afflicted with spiritual disturbance. And the list goes on for different cultures with their different methods.

For some, they would find it hard to believe or puzzled on how that a simple drawing on a yellow piece of paper be able to help spiritually. The criteria and preparation to draw a talisman is not as simple as your normal art or calligraphy hobby. Far far from what you expect.

1st Criteria

The person must be initiated into a Taoist lineage. If the person is not initiated in a Taoist lineage, the talisman is just a piece of art or nice calligraphy. Initiation is to open up the communication channel between the person and the Deities of a specific Taoist Sect.

2nd Criteria

The person must have received a collection of talisman that has being passed down through the generations after they are initiated and qualified to use the talisman.

After the above 2 criteria is fulfilled, the person can only be considered potentially qualified to use talisman. Why only potential? Because the person would then need to ingest more than 100 types of talisman - ranging from protection, summon, suppress, cast off, balancing and also controlling types of talisman into their body upon qualifying to use talisman. 

After which every month they would need to ingest about 60 talisman to maintain and build up their spiritual qi reserve.

If the person is a bit lazy or likes to procrastinate, very soon they would not have the required spiritual reserve do to the various rituals. Just like a computer, no matter how good your CPU is (meaning the lineage transmission) if you have small size RAM, you cannot perform complex task and are easily drained. 

Like any other religion, we are just the medium - in talisman execution however we have more freedom to deal and do spiritual process as compared to other types of spiritual Taoist as the rituals and process are usually locked and governed by the Deities.

Upon qualifying to draw the talisman, then comes the procedures of drawing the talisman.

Preparation:

1. Brush, water, ink, cinnabar must all be cleanse spiritually before they can be use to draw talisman.

2. Each piece of paper that is going to be used must be cleanse off through a specific mantra.

Actual Drawing:

1. Before drawing, the person have to request the deities to descend their energy on to the person  by chanting specific mantra of the lineage. This is to inform the deities, that one of the disciple is now requesting the energy to do a spiritual process.

1. Each specific symbol on the talisman HEAD, BODY and BELT have a specific code and mantra that must be chanted while drawing the talisman. For example, when you see nice ribbon on the talisman, actually it has a specifc chant that the person must do when drawing it. It is similar to unlocking a specific door using a specific key code. Without this, the talisman is a useless piece of imitation.

2. After completing the talisman, then we would need to write different codes either in request or summoning layer upon layer on to the 符但 NERVE (black dot on the bottom)  of the talisman. The NERVE is the soul of the talisman, if mistakes are done, it is also render useless. Therefore absolute concentration is needed, which also is one of the factor to determines how effective the talisman when it is being used. When all is done, then the drawing process is considered finish.

Officiating and Seal of Talisman:

1. When the drawing is complete, then we would need to put the deity seal 神印 onto the talisman. Again the person need request the deities energy to descend and then would chant specific mantra to seal different sections of the talisman.

Reporting and Energizing 敕符:

1. When all above is complete, the person will then have to take the talisman to the front of the deity and do the official reporting verbally through specific edicts. It is to inform the deities and the spiritual world that a specific talisman is being drawn. 

2. After the reporting procedure, then the person would need to request the deities to descend the energy through them to energize the talisman at hand. 

After all the above process, then only the talisman can be used or ingest. Hence, it is not as simple you may have expected. 

Conventional talisman that is available on books or yearly Chinese almanac will not have the effect of a hand drawn talisman. By one simple reason alone, as those talisman have not gone through the official required process to call it a Talisman. Some even more outrageous as to ask the public to print out directly from the web!

I find it very peculiar and sad, when some of my Western students of Feng Shui or Qi Men Dun Jia decide to attend classes on how to draw talisman. There was even an incident last year, that one of my student pass me a Fu De Zheng Shen talisman 福德正神 in one of my teaching tour in Europe as he has attended the How to Draw Talisman Class. I do not know whether to laugh or cry, in the end I just accept it politely as a calligraphy effort by him.

So next time, when you request a talisman or being handed a talisman from a Taoist practitioner, learn to appreciate the work that it took to hand you the 'physical blessing' of the Deities.

Retrieving Stolen Item by Spiritual Method

 2 days ago, my wife place her empty small handbag on our side coffee table. The next day when she look for it, it is no longer there. After searching up and down for some time, she did not manage to find it.

The next day, out of disbelief I sectorized each location of the house and started searching, canvassing the whole house. After 2 hours plus, searched the whole house and still fail to find her handbag.

Usually on normal day to day living, I would be very reluctant to ask the deities for help in my mundane life experiences. On this matter however, it is impossible that an item can be missing, when no guest have come to our house.

So I went into meditative stabilization and ask 三教祖師, whether the item is being stolen. They confirmed. Then I ask our house Di Zhu 地主, also confirmed someone has taken it.

With this information, I filled up the official edict to request deities for help in locating the item and thief. Together with 5 Directional Catch Thief Talisman 五方捉賊符, I submitted the request at 3pm Sunday afternoon.

This method of retrieving stolen item, requires chanting every 2 hours. My last chant was at wee morning of Monday around 1 am before I go to bed. Then upon waking up, I chanted another session after my morning shower around 9am.

At 9:15am, our 2 domestic helper came to me and told me they have found my wife's handbag. One of them said she dreamt that the bag was beneath our bed. What she did not know was, I was looking under the bed just before my morning shower and did not see anything there. How did they find it there? I will leave it to you to piece up the puzzle.

Nevertheless I am very grateful that the deities came to our assistance. 大顯威靈！

Encounters of 7th Lunar Month 2010

On the first day of 7^th Month I have received a call from fellow committee member of Kam Dong San Temple. According to Michael (not his real name) his mum had been possessed the night before. And Mr. Wong Soon Lee asked him to give me a call to let me know on the situation.

His account of the event was his mum woke up at exactly on 2:30am for the past two nights and her voiced changed and started to mumble some speech which the family members do not understand. At some point, his mum would become agitated and starting doing frantic movement. They try to hold her down, but she somehow got really strong. In normal day to day however, his mum do get shortness of breath from normal movement.

He told me that his mum had become really frantic Aug 10 morning. He called Mr. Wong Soon Lee from our temple, who is in charge of weekly spiritual consultation in the temple. When Soon Lee arrived in Michael's house in the wee of morning, his mum was quite frantic. Immediately Soon Lee went into a trance and request for his Spiritual Master – Master Lee Xian Shi to descend. In meditative stabilisation, Soon Lee was told that there is 2 spirit by Michael's mum. Immediately they got hold of one of the spirit but the other one got away. Soon Lee then proceed to spiritually seal all the opening of Michael's house.

Michael's mum was then awake and can recognize Soon Lee . Therefore ascertain that all is okay, Soon Lee then left Michael's house. However as soon as Soon Lee left, his mum become frantic again until 5 am in the morning. And when she woke up, she did not remember any of the incidence that happen in the early morning.

When Michael called me, I asked few questions

Did his mum had any medical condition?

Did she had any new medical prescription?

Where had she been 2 nights prior to this incident?

Had he taken his mum to the hospital for checkup?

First I have to make sure it was not related to a medical condition. Sometimes deep depression and schizophrenia can also exhibit the symptoms of possession. After confirming it was not a medical condition, I have asked Michael to forward me his mum's date of birth and time and also MMS over the photo of her mum.

I have also talked to Soon Lee on what other things he have noticed in during his time at his place. When I went into meditative stabilisation, I saw one spirit by the her mum and it originate from the ancestral urn. Michael's house does not make any offering to Taoist Deities or Buddha Statues. They only have Tian Gong, Ancestor and Earth Deity

Somehow malevolent spirits had managed to enter his ancestral urn and started some disturbances in his family. Usually these spirits will prey on the weakest spiritual mind in the household. As this year his mum's luck is very weak and fill with clashes.

I specifically remember that I had discussion with Soon Lee during Tai Sui Celebration that Michael's mum should request from Lord Tai Sui this year to avoid all mishaps. This is because when I consecrate the Tai Sui Lamp for his family, they did submit all family members BaZi. I had a quick glance on his mum's BaZi.

After which, under instruction from Kam Dong San deities I have drawn up 3 Liu Ren Xian Shi Talisman for her to consume for 3 consecutive day, 1 talisman of suppressing ghost and demon to hang in front of his house. And also Jiu Tian Xuan Nu talisman to burn onto sandalwood smoke to purify his house (this talisman was given out during Chinese New Year for spring cleaning and spiritual cleansing).

After his mum consume the talisman, on the first night she still woke up but did not became frantic and it was for a very short time only.

On the second night and third night she did not wake up. I still followed up with Michael and advice that his mum continue with flower bath until after 17 August. As she was quite weak luckwise and hence it affects her spiritual aura.

Spiritual disturbances are conditions that can cause us to have possessions and can wreak havoc in our life. But the main seed cause is from our karmic ties with those malevolent spirit. In our Taoist practice, we do not eliminate or destroy these malevolent when encountered. Usually is to ask them to leave before any confrontation is deemed necessary. If we destroy or eliminate them, then it will strengthen the karmic ties of these spirits with the person involved and also create new ties with ourselves.

The best way to prevent such problems and incidence in our life is to practice charity in monetary forms and also charity in spiritual forms. Charity in spiritual forms are such as light offering, food offering or statues dedication (statues of Buddhas,Bodhisatvas or Deities) to our karmic debtors.

Another torn shirt....

Every once in a while there will be some friends or acquaintances approach me and ask “Do you want to teach students on how to draw talisman?” or “Do you want to take in protégé in Dao Fa 道法?

It looks attractive and interesting, being able to draw talisman and request for spiritual assistance for specific purposes through the Taoist Deities. Some even look at it as something to elevate their status among peers or friends, essentially being different from others.

If one follow the path of Dao Fa, establishing higher spiritual goals and also being in the lineage of evoking spiritual assistance there are basically 1 out of 3 options that the person will need to choose or being forced upon them. These 3 options in particular will serve as an exchange or as the path of entering the person’s spiritual goal(s) in Dao Fa.

What are these 3 options?
1. To live a life of poverty 2. To live a life of solidarity 3. To always wear torn clothes

All these 3 options are to reflect the imperfection of the person. By gaining the ability to request for spiritual assistance when and where it is needed, the person life shall not be perfect.

Living a life of poverty means that person will not be able to be rich from utilizing any of spiritual responsibility entrusted upon them. That is why, most that uses Dao Fa, as a career will not be wealthy.

To live a life of solidarity means that the person will not have children. There will not be future generations and in most cases the person will not be able to get married.

To always wear torn clothes is due to in the olden days if one were to wear torn clothes it means that they are someone who is not in high or medium status position in society. It is the least heavy options out of the 3.

When I was initiated into Dao Fa, my Taoist master told me that what you learn in Dao Fa could never directly be used to earn money from others. I think that is one way of our lineage by passing option 1. Nevertheless, I was not told of the remaining 2 options.

In some lineage, they will place these 3 options beneath a bowl and when the disciple is initiated, they will choose 1 out of 3 and the chosen option will be set for life. There are some that their option will be chosen by their Master who initiate them into Dao Fa.

For my case, I started to slowly find out on my own. Not long after I was initiated, I noticed that my pants or shirt would on many occasion get torn. Even newly bought shirts or jeans will also have this effect. I also stop buying slightly more expensive khakis pants as most will last a month or so. Jeans that wore for 3-4 times will out of nowhere get torn.

Later I understand that option 3 was already being enforced on me. Considering the other 2 options available, I was glad that I got number 3. I have met some other Dao Fa practitioner that teach me how to work within the option, new shirts that I bought must purposely be punctured in some hidden area to materialize this imperfection.

Which is why, when some friends or people I know asked whether can they be initiated into learning Dao Fa, usually I just smile and say “ It is not as simple as what you see, there are a lot of ‘terms and conditions’ involved.
